Vassili's Bread Shop - Courtenay

I stopped by for a drink on a sunny Saturday evening after being picked up from the ferry. The restaurant is spacious, with two separate sections.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food at this affordable neighborhood pub. I ordered the chicken club with avocado, while my friend opted for a cheeseburger and fries. Both dishes were delicious.

I recently visited this restaurant with my fiancée for the festival of lights and was shocked by how poorly we were treated. It seemed that only regular customers or friends of the waitstaff received decent service, as we were practically ignored the entire time. It was disappointing to be treated like garbage simply because we were new customers.

Some of the best bread available in town and at a reasonable price. You just walk in off the street a nd are in the bakery itself so it is takeout style.

Fantastic breads. Try them all! You will happy to return for more. Go early for best selection as they run out fast. An easy stroll up on 5th street.
