Mr Cheng - County Durham

I'm not sure what has happened, but the food has definitely changed at this restaurant. It's not as tasty as it used to be, and they have made changes to their dishes. It's disappointing because this place has always been my go-to for Chinese food.

We ordered from here as a takeaway we were staying on a campsite not so far away so thought we would give this Chinese a try! We spent £35 and what a waste of money it were..it was horrendous! it's full of fat greasy oil and they haven't got a clue what salt and pepper is....! They just laced everything in pepper... Not good at all.. Definitely one to avoid..

Mr. Cheng has owned this restaurant for years and the food quality has remained consistent. I live on Sherburn Rd and the convenience of having this restaurant just around the corner is a plus.

I have been enjoying Mr. Chang's food for 20 years now. Even after moving from Durham to Sunderland, my husband and I still make the trip to get our favorite Chinese takeout. The service is always friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are great.

I rung Mr. Cheng's to ask about a large order for Chinese New Year the person said no and abruptly hung up. I then called again, and the same thing happened. The third time a different person picked up and said they would not do that and I asked whether the order was too big or they were booked or why exactly (as I could have altered the order), and the person repeated the couldn't and hung up again. Was really looking forward to it as the reviews make the food sound great!
