Bidrage med feedbackAfter returning after a year away, I was disappointed to find that the tea room was no longer there, and part of the shop was closed off next to the water wheel. It seems like visitor numbers may have dropped, as there was no place to have a snack and a cup of tea, although there are nearby options that are similar in price. The merchandise in the shop has not changed, with the same clothing and tourist items. It could use an update with new stock to bring some new life into it. However, the staff were friendly as always.
This restaurant is a charming spot to relax after a walk. They serve the most delicious ice cream you will ever taste, and the lady who served us was friendly and courteous.
We came across this place on a website and decided to look for it to grab some coffee. Unfortunately, it had closed down, but the old mill shop and museum were still there. However, the museum is only open during the winter. Despite this, the lemon sorbet ice cream was delightful and a perfect way to cool down on a sweltering day.
Before setting off on a walk I checked their website to see if this conveniently placed cafe would be open for coffee and yes it would be. Asking the assistant where the cafe was, we were advised that they don't serve coffees and haven't for a long time. When I suggested that their website should be updated, I was told that they don't have a website. The unpleasant attitude was unwarranted. Avoid at all costs.
We went to this cafe to ask for drinks and were told they do takeaway only. We both said this was fine, but then asked if they used biodegradable cups. The member of staff made a face like we 'd asked for cups made of diamond and said no . Her attitude was that we were stupid for asking this question. Even if they had used biodegradable cups (as every takeaway place should be), the rudeness of the member of staff meant we would never have bought from this place. Really gutting.
