Sam's Family - Cortland

During our visit to Sam's the service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food received. The restaurant was full at around 10 am on a weekday. Unfortunately, we felt that the food was lacking in flavor. I got the ribeye and eggs the ribeye was mostly fat and gristle, and the steak, eggs, and hash browns were not seasoned. The cinnamon french toast had a good cinnamon flavor, but overall it was underwhelming. While we're glad we tried this restaurant, it was not our favorite in the area.

Good american food and friendly staff. This is a great place for a small town restaurant.

Stopped in this morning. Another great experience! Good food, good service. We are from St Charles and will continue to keep returning to Sam's.

Nice little place and you are greeted warmly. I ordered an omelette to go and it was ready quickly. The ingredients tasted fresh and the omelette was well made and tasted good. I'd like to go back and actually be able to sit down and not be in a hurry like I was this day. No doubt they have many other items on their menu that I should've tried.

Is very sad that I have to do this, I was holding my tongue because my husband likes this restaurant, but Friday was the day that made this possible, we went early around 1pm because we needed to go all the way to Cherry Valley, the place was with only 2 other tables not full or anything actually very slow, I noticed right away that the person cooking was not the same person that always cook, knowing that I just ordered a chef salad and my husband ordered the stake and eggs, the waitress very slappy was the only one there, it took for ever to just have some stake and eggs and a salad, the waitress counting money and touching money and then grabbing the plates without even washing her hands or at least putting some sanitizer, the salad was not at all as I always get it, same with my husband stake very salty and we are taking care the sodium that we consume, the other bad part of this restaurant, do not attempt to get in the internet not even with your own data is almost as they block internet all together, we were going to pick some items and I was going to get the address my phone completely useless, they do not provide internet service for their customers, my husband asked the waitress if we could get a password to get the address that we needed and no they do not provide that for customers, like we are in the caves era, we have unlimited data in our phones and our phones couldn't even connect online, the other issue is that if you don't eat pork, forget about requesting an alternative even though the owners themselves don't eat pork, we got this information by workers themself, they do not provide turkey bacon, Turkey patties, I understand most people eat pork but wouldn't be bad if they have a small supply for those who do not eat pork, but from all above the waiting time was ridiculous we ended getting to Cherry Valley almost by the time they were going to close and stressed out. I cook myself and eggs is the quickest thing you can cook same with stake and salad, and there were only 2 more tables which they were already eating. Very bad experience and the waitress barely coming to our table. Very sad I used to like this restaurant even with the inconvenience of no wifi for guess or no alternatives for pork, but I don't think that we are going back any time soon the service Friday was the worse and they were not even busy. My honest review.
