Taqueria Acapulco - Corpus Christi

My sister and I ordered the Tripas plate during our visit. She chose hers cooked well, while I opted for medium. I noticed that this time, we received less food compared to our previous visits. My sister mentioned that we used to get salads, tomatoes, and guacamole during earlier meals. Although the prices have gone up, the food was still good.

My fiancé had to head to work, so we met here for a meal before he left. He ordered the Calvo, while I tried the Acapulco fries with extra cheese and extra gravy. He mentioned that the soup was just okay, and unfortunately it didn’t come with rice, which is typically standard for soups. However, the fries were incredible and bursting with flavor! Maybe it was just me, but they were definitely better than what we had at Weber.

For an appetizer, we ordered the Acapulco frits, which consist of seasoned fries topped with gravy, carne asada, and cheese, all served on a hot plate. This dish is one of our favorites! I had the chicken stew, and while the portion sizes were good, I was a bit disappointed with the broth. I found myself needing to add salt, lime, and salsa to enhance the flavor. However, the soup itself was fantastic. It comes with a side of rice and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. The homemade corn tortillas are incredibly soft and fluffy—a definite must-try! My daughter enjoyed the Torta with carne asada, while my husband had the fajitas with nopales. There were no complaints from them, so I assume their meals were great. Acapulco remains one of our go-to spots for Mexican cuisine.

I went on a Friday and expected a taco special this being first time I have been in the restaurant. No taco special was offered. But they did offer a chorizo and egg plate with beans . The plate came with tortillas and coffee. I got out of there only paying nine dollars and some change for two plates. As I said it was first time I have been there but the food was very good.

The food was really great. The sopes were amazing. Highly recommend visiting great place to take the kids awesome. Prices were average to high for Corpus Christi area. Enchiladas were also really good.
