Bidrage med feedbackSushi was really good, service was bad. Our waitress seemed pretty overwhelmed, either she was the only one planned or someone didn't show up. Either the service was not a pleasant experience... But go safe for food, sushi is simple and tasty without a bunch of frying...
Not as good as before. The service is strange. Sushi cuts are good. Another place. Use to get back here a lot. Same cook on the back.
If you want to eat sushi quickly, go to HEB. This is a place to enjoy an evening and in my opinion the best quality sushi in Corpus Christi. The reason why they stay in business are regular like me who recognize the difference between average sushi and excellent sushi. A lot of why the fish and other foods are so good in Origami, is that the cook has been trained in Japan for years and knows how to choose the best quality seafood. Anyone who has ever lived or visited Japan knows how selective and selective they are about their sushi. And if you go, and it doesn't seem like it should take so long, remember that they do a big deal in people who stop to phone in orders. Friday evenings can be particularly slow, so if you want to try the food and not the time or patience you may have better luck in a week night. Japanese experience does not turn around tables, as is usual here in the states. As many readers say, it is not a place to go for a traditional American type meal where you get in and out in 30 minutes. The experience in Japan includes an event from the meal. When a group of us goes, we usually plan to spend about half to two hours and enjoy ourselves and not be in a hurry. The more you go and become a familiar customer, the more the cook begins to share with you the exotic items that are not on the menu. Regular also get extra treats from the cook. It is a restaurant run by a large Japanese sushi cook and his wife and I like it because they treat me like family. Besides, it is a small company that belongs to them, and is not one of the great chains you find all on and off SPID. If you give good quality traditional Japanese sushi there is an attempt. I've been eating there for thirteen years so I'll see you next time...
Great sushi, terrible waiting. Once I lived in Japan and found myself in Corpus, I had no high hopes for the quality of sushi in this restaurant. Luckily I was pleasantly surprised! That's the best sushi I had in the states. I'm pretty sure I was better in Japan and Vancouver. Unbelievable to find such a jewel! Now on the head no one jokes about waiting. I came for lunch. There were no more than 3 other tables in the restaurant with customers all the time I was there. It took someone to take my order forever. After my order was taken, I saw someone enter, go to the bar, sit down, place an order and receive his order before I received mine. I had no complicated order and 4 pieces of sushi. Forever to get the check. When I was paid and changed, I noticed that they paid it in big bills, which meant that I either had to break the bill, give them a ridiculous tip, or fortunately subtipated. I was almost undertiped, but ended down the waiter (who could not be disturbed to check on my drink or see if I needed something else for the whole meal) and gave a decent tip. Probably the best way to enjoy Origami is to get out. Place the order with a lot of time and take it home to avoid the terrible service. Too bad that so much food has so bad service.
Authentic Japanese Cuisine. My favorite sit-down restaurant. You won't find any better Japanese food or sushi anywhere! Period. I have to restrict how many times per week I eat there because I enjoy it so much. Prices are reasonable and all the wait staff speak English. It's a real Japanese restaurant.
