Bidrage med feedbackWhen my wife and I arrived for dinner we were courteously greeted by the restaurant manager, indeed every one of the front of house staff we had contact were charming and helpful. We had a pre dinner drink giving us time to peruse the Menu. It was nice not to be hurried. We were shown to our table and asked where we would like to sit rather than being told where to sit, which was a nice change. The food was excellent and compared to some of the restaurants we have eaten in, in Falmouth, the portions were of a good size and again unlike Falmouth good value for money. The Chef’s should be congratulated, and indeed we would like to draw attention to one Chef, Shannon, who we asked to be introduced to, who was responsible for some of our dishes. We are sure he will go far. Overall full marks, great ambience, great food and great staff, front and back.
We have just returned home from a one night stay in the lovely hotel! We were met with a lovely welcome from the receptionist. And all staff we came across were very helpful and made us feel very welcomed. The room 307 was Cosy and clean, with great amenities and a very comfortable superking size bed. We had a lovely window view of the Portloe tiny harbour. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. We would definitely recommend this hotel. My only very small critique would be maybe to think about having No plastic ' wrapping on the robes, slippers and amenities....This is just my personal thoughts on being sustainable. Thank-you for a great stay!!
Just back from two wonderful nights where the service, friendliness and food couldn't be faulted! Our lovely room had a small seaview and contained tea/coffee making items (and gorgeous cookies! , fresh fruit and mints. A fridge with fresh milk was also provided, which was a lovely touch no plastic long life mini cartons of milk here! Alison as front of house, really made our stay from the moment we arrived and she gave us a tour of the lounge, bar and restaurant (and explained how breakfast was set up , then showing us to our room, to when we sadly left, she couldn't have been nicer. Similarly the head chef was great to chat to (we bumped into him in reception and then the car park , and dealt with our food allergy and intolerances in his stride. A few menu items changed for our second night which was nice. As someone has stated, they do add a 10% service charge to all food and drink (and clearly state this , but to be honest, it amounted to how much we would have left as a tip anyway. It is shared with all the staff (kitchen, reception and housekeepers so you don't have to find cash to leave in the room etc. Luxury toiletries from The White Stuff in refillable containers was also appreciated and good to see. Fantastic location too! We will return ....
Very nice overnight stayed in The Look out . Staff were wonderful especially Alison on reception . Wasn’t too impress by the food …. Service was very good though. Breakfast was nice but a bit overcooked .. bacon and black pudding hard , probably been under hot lamp too long .
We had a great time during our 4-night stay in room 402, The Lookout, at The Lugger. The room offered beautiful views of the sea and harbor, and was tastefully decorated. The room was equipped with a small fridge in the wardrobe, although space was a bit tight, especially in the bathroom. We appreciated the daily supply of fresh fruit and bottled water. The customer service from reception (Alison Joanna) and the restaurant was excellent. While the food at the restaurant was very good, we found the dinner menu to be a bit repetitive over our 4-night stay, with sole being the only fish option for 2 nights. Surprisingly, sea bass caught locally was not available during our visit. As an alternative, we tried The Ship, a nearby pub with a classic menu, just 150 meters away. If you are seeking high-quality accommodation in a pristine location along the South West Coast Path, The Lugger is a great choice.
