Bidrage med feedbackWe visited one of our local beaches with our dog on a sunny Sunday morning. We decided to pop in for a coffee and a browse through the menu. Unfortunately we were greeted by a man with limited vocabulary! He thought it was acceptable to swear at his colleagues in front of customers. Whilst drinking our barely warm coffee an elderly couple walked in and he continued with his foul language! We won’t be back!
Straight away we were welcomed with ‘we nearly gave your table away you’re that late’ bearing in mind we arrived on time, so instantly off to a bad start. Then being squished onto a table of 4 having booked for 5. The food was average at best. The waitress then proceeded to be rude throughout bringing the wrong food out, making out like we ordered something we didn’t. With being cramped onto a table we decided once we’d eaten we would promptly leave. In doing so we tried to pay our bill at the bar, and was yet again greeted by the rude waitress who caused an issue with us trying to split the bill and stormed off and someone else apologised and dealt with the bill. Overall, nice location, terrible service, average overcooked food. Will not be visiting again.
Perfect character inn on the beach at Polkerris complete with log fire, charming decor and doorstep sarnies worth walking the cliff path from Par Sands for. Lovely thick granary bread stuffed with the filling of your choice and served with a handful of crisps and a side salad. Thanks to barman Tommy for being so hospitable and making me feel welcome and at ease. Equally great was a previous Sunday roast vegan nutloaf experience served outside with spectacular views and a plateful of grub to be grateful for.
Popped in for a cheeky lunch and were not disappointed (never have been! . Muscles, Calamari Chips with a couple of glasses of wine. Every thing was perfect from the welcome to the bill!!
We had Sunday lunch here last Sunday. We hadn't booked a table as we were out sightseeing whilst in Cornwall. They were fully booked which is a very good sign of how popular they are but could give us a table for an hour and a half till the 2.00 booking for that table. We really appreciated this and were so impressed with our Roast Beefs lots of fresh veg, cauliflower cheese, all piping hot. hubby had the sticky toffee pudding for afters which was so soft with lashings of sauce and icecream. The pub has real character, great views and most of all a lovely warm welcome. Its very dog friendly too.
