Hub Box - Cornwall,Isles of Scilly

We visited the St Ives location a couple of weeks ago for my daughter’s birthday and really enjoyed it so when I saw Truro were hosting a locals night I thought it’d be rude not to go! It’s quite deceptive from the outside as I expected it to be quite dark but it was light and airy. We chose our drink, burger and side to then be surprised with a free taster of the chicken wings and nachos while we waited (both were lovely). Our food came quickly and was spot on. We ordered the mother clucker dirty fries and the trailer tots (the tots were my fave) as well as the Honey C and brisket burger. We were stuffed and couldn’t finish it so took the rest of the food home with us. We asked for the bill which took a while to come because of an error on the till system but were kept informed while we waited. My son had to go and catch a bus so left, however, while we waited for the bill I was then told we also had a dessert included in the locals night offer. It was a themed ice cream pot which I wasn’t able to takeaway for my son as there were no lids so he missed out on that unfortunately. Nevertheless, we enjoyed what we had, the service was efficient and friendly and we would definitely return again and pay full price.

Amazing service and great food. Fun vibes and all around. Casey and Jake were super attentive and Olwyn was funny!! The cocktails were yummy and good value for money. We were celebrating our course finishing and this was the perfect location for the occasion!

Went in with my Dad who is in his late 70’s, he loved it too. I really fancied a good wholesome burger after work and they didn’t disappoint, very tasty, just the right amount of food, great staff, good atmosphere, hit the spot!

It’s my unfortunate pleasure to have ask you to tread carefully at Hub Box Truro. I contracted severe food poisoning from eating one of their ‘Dirty Club’ burgers on 29/03/24!! I was scheduled to run a half marathon in Henley-On-Thames on the 31/03/24 but after violent vomiting all day on 30/03/24 I could no longer participate. This was incredibly disappointing as I had trained for many months to get into a position to run the race. I ended up spending all day in a hotel room in Reading attempting to prevent any further expulsions. I would suggest avoiding the chicken at this restaurant as it’s clearly not at the standards required to serve to the general public.
