Peninsula Prime - Cornelius

4.5 stars Me and hubby stopped by without a reservation for Valentine's Day, after our old faithful restaurant had a special menu with none of our favorites and not suitable for someone with seafood allergies. We hit google maps and found a place still open as it was getting pretty late. They were able to seat us immediately and the place was beautiful inside. We didn't particularly care for where they sat us as there were booths open and available but we were sat in the middle of the floor at a table made for 4. We were hungry so we accepted it. My husband ordered a top shelf Long Island which he didn't like too much but couldn't describe why. I ordered a calamari appetizer which arrived quickly and was superb. We ordered our food at the same time and it quickly followed behind. That calamari was so good I am ready to go back just for that. They did have a special Valentine menu so items were limited. But hubby ordered a warm spinach and mushroom salad topped with a over east egg. He thoroughly enjoyed it and still talks about it. For entree he got steak fried rice and it was delicious. I ordered a medium well steak and creamed spinach. Steak was cooked perfect and tasted well seasoned. Didn't care too much for the spinach flavor was kind of blah. We will return soon, service was great and attentive.

I've been in here a couple times now and the food has been outstanding. Good oysters, good appetizers, and excellent seafood main entrees. The entrees really stood out to me with just the right preparation, flavors, texture, and plating/presentation. Menu seems to rotate seasonally. Respectable selection of bourbon and other whiskeys. The overall vibe of the place seems to be going for upscale ish or polished without being overly formal or stuff. It's comfortable. As far as décor goes IMO the only thing that could be lost is the animal print chair upholstery; not my thing. Price point oysters/apps, a main, a few drinks... it adds up quickly. I'll leave it at that. If you don't mind splurging a bit I think it's worth checking out. I'll be back more, for sure.

New Years Eve dinner we have a vacation home at Lake Norman and heard this was a great new place in the area. We were not disappointed great dinner, service and atmosphere. A bit pricey but worth it/not excessive for what we got. Waitress gave us a sample of several sides and must say the green bean casserole, while normally pretty boring, was amazing, probably the most memorable thing we ate all year of all things! Will be back and will recommend.

We were staying in for New Year’s Eve changed our minds. My husband called Peninsula Prime they told us we could try the bar. So we did just that! When we walked in, I heard Frank Sinatra music, my favorite! This restaurant is lovely. The fireplace is so inviting. They have a unique second floor. Feels quite exclusive to be here. For some of my followers, this place may be more for special events. I can imagine a wedding proposal here or perhaps celebrating a really big life event! My husband really enjoyed the filet mignon. We also ordered the halibut two sides. Delicious! Oh yes, and shrimp cocktail. We rang in the new year in style. Check out the video pics. PS Ladies, there was a cheetah pic hanging in the powder room that I wanted to take home with me. Seriously! Peninsula Prime is exquisite. Experience it!

I will definitely return—1000%! The atmosphere was beautiful and inviting, the staff were exceptional, and the food was simply out of this world. Each bite was a celebration for my taste buds! I also want to give a special shoutout to my drink, The Royal Rose, which made me feel like a delicate Caribbean flower. As for the food, we kicked things off with calamari, which came with delightful sauce pairings. The Cambridge oyster was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the savory appetizer and potato salad were. The lobster tacos were crispy on the outside and bursting with a refreshing citrus flavor on the inside—reminiscent of ceviche and utterly delicious!
