Sun Star Chinese Restaurant - Coquitlam

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The soup was awful and there were ingredients in my Hop Suey that I specifically asked not to have due to allergies. The broccoli was discolored and the pork in the soup tasted bad. The service was poor, as they did not check on us or ask if we needed anything. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, the prices were still high. I will not be returning.

The interior may not be fancy, but the food is delicious. The menu has a variety of options including Chinese and Canadian breakfast meals. If you're in the area and looking for a meal, give it a try. The lunch specials are worth the price.

I have been ordering from this restaurant for years and it used to be good. However, last year it was hit and miss, and the last two times were terrible. The HOUSE SPECIAL CHOW MY we ordered was ice cold and solid, the Beijing style pork chop had all bones and fat with too much sauce, the Ginger chicken was all fat with too much sauce, and the Wonton soup had a big piece of bone in one and was bland in all the others. The House special egg rolls were saturated with deep frying oil and were mushy. It cost us $65.00 plus tip and tasted terrible. I have known the owner for some time, but the last 2-3 times have been so bad that I have decided not to order from there again. The time before, I found a product sticker on my green pepper that they had not removed. Maybe if they had washed it, they would have noticed the sticker. They use a lot of onions for bulking as it is cheaper than meat. Goodbye SUN STAR, you will not be missed.

We've been eating here before they moved. But they went downhill. The orders were wrong, the last 4 times we had taken out. This time they have the order wrong twice, and argued with me when I called to let them know....They had no driver to deliver the right order, so the server asked on the phone what I wanted them to do it. I said I'd like to go back there and get my money back. Funny enough they had a driver right away. The quality of food is uneven, and its all prefabricated foods. Do not waste your time, gas or money.

Moved to next to Ramada Hotel on Lougheed hwy, Worth the longer drive. Food is very good and prices good.you get a good serving for the price. Staff very pleasant. Enjoyed.
