Narita Sushi - Coquitlam

Chose this restaurant because of its proximity to Metrotown; we ate there on the way to a BC Lions game in downtown. The restaurant was empty almost at 5 pm on Saturday, which led to a flash-Quick service and an amazing experience. Our cups were held... full of green tea and the hand rolls were the biggest I saw in 20 years of sushi food. Very filling for the money, and we will come back absolutely. Note that the situation is very small, so if it were full of people, it would have been loud (not really a romantic place, but that is not why we were there).

Huge pieces of salmon sashimi (my favorite) and excellent service! The place was empty when we went to dinner, so there was no problem getting room.

Stopped in for dinner after a movie... We were seated quickly by their friendly staff. They have an excellent selection of rolls. I had wild salmon sashimi, miso and ebi sunomono, my partner and I both had one of the specialty rolls.<br/ <br/ Food was served quickly, with edamame as an appetizer. It was all very good, the sunomono was will prepared and i could taste a hint of wine in the vinegar. The chef also provided is with a small dish of deep fried salmon, on the house, which was very thoughtful: I had mentioned never trying tempura or deep fried salmon before.<br/ <br/ The tea kept coming as needed, and the service was excellent overall. I did forget to show them out movie ticket for the 10% discount over $30, but I will remember next time we see a movie at the theatre across the street.<br/ <br/ All in all, a nice little restaurant that is apparently very popular given the amount local people that were coming in for takeout while we were there. A definite good choice.

I recently tried this restaurant based on a recommendation from a coworker. We ordered a variety of rolls and appetizers, but I can't say I was overly impressed. The special rolls had a long list of options, but many of them seemed to be fried poorly and ended up soggy. The overall taste was bland, lacking in sweetness, spice, or saltiness. While some people may enjoy adding soy sauce, I prefer when the flavors are well-balanced on their own. The beef yakisoba was also lacking in flavor, with only a hint of soy sauce. The owners were generous with toppings, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of taste.

I've been a huge fan of Narita Sushi's creative rolls for 2 years.  Today I tried one of their new menus which name is Aburi sushi. It was fabulous and so tasty. Rice was just nice and the seared salmon was very juicy- It was perfect harmony. I high recommend this place to who wants to enjoy high-end and creative sushi with reasonable price. Must try. :
