Bidrage med feedbackOur go to place for dim sum in the Tricities. Also love that they have an in-house bakery with Chinese pastries. They also have BBQ duck, pork and sausage where the bakery is so you can order these for take-out too. We’ve enjoyed all dishes at Mei Le whether dim sum or dinner. We did have some soggy pancake wraps with the Peking duck one time. Some were fine and others must have gotten wet. Their family dinner menus are great for groups. Otherwise good service and good food.
Good dim sum restaurant with what looks to be a large customer base. We went on Saturday to pick up take out and it was packed table to table with customers all without face masks. It was a bit unsettling as covid is still around (Feb 2022). We got the salt and pepper squid, the eggplant bao, and the shrimp rice noodle dish. Everything was packaged nicely and they even cut some holes in the styrofoam to let the fried squid breathe. Food had good taste and was prepared nicely.
One of the few Cantonese restaurants with fairly good cuisine, BBQ meats (made in house and a bakery all in one! You will not find another place with this quality in the area. Free parking in the plaza and easily accessible from any direction as long as you drive. Customer service is great and the cost is fairly average for this type of place. We've had dimsum here once and dinner several times. The dimsum is pretty good though a bit pricey but worth (good food deserves it . We enjoyed dinner more though. Generally, we order the two person combination for $45 with the BBQ duck (half which is fairly meaty, and a clay pot (e.g. beef brisket with daikon, tofu with fish, etc. . The portions are more than enough. They taste good too! On top of that, it comes with an awesome Chinese soup (long boiled , basket of rice and a small dish of BBQ meat. If you're an average eater (regular quantity like us, you'll have leftovers. They accept all forms of payments. Enjoy!
We don't find ourselves in Coquitlam much but decided to try Mei La a few weeks ago. The dim sum dishes are large and generous and we liked most of the items we tried. The taro dumplings were light and fluffy with a crisp exterior and moist filling. Sliced beef tripe also had good flavor (had 1 piece that was more in the crunchy side). Good char in the pan fried shrimp and chive dumplings (these were very large). Similarly, the bean curd rolls in oyster sauce had a generously meaty filling. Nice beef rice rolls. The one item we weren't thrilled with was the Shanghai style dumplings as the shredded daikon wound up being too dry inside the pastry shell. Interestingly, they have a bakery and bbq area at the front of the restaurant and they even sell apple tarts (similar to what you'd find at New Town Bao Bakery) they aren't as light and flaky but worth a try if you can't make it to Vancouver. Overall, good stop for dim sum in Coquitlam.
I recently dined at this exquisite restaurant and was blown away by the entire experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting and elegant. The staff's warmth and professionalism added to the overall charm of the place. Now, onto the food an absolute masterpiece! Each dish was a work of art, meticulously prepared and bursting with flavors that danced on my palate. The menu offered a delightful fusion of traditional and innovative flavors, catering to a range of preferences. The presentation was stunning, showcasing the chef's attention to detail.
