Haenam Korean Restaurant - Coquitlam

This restaurant is open 7 days a week until 11:00 pm, which is great for those wanting to dine late. The food is tasty but not exceptional. The standout dish for us was the grilled ribs. The soup noodles were decent and the side dishes were okay, although they didn't have traditional kimchi. Instead, they served a hot pickle wheel. The decor is beautiful and overall it was a pleasant dining experience.

Hae Nam is a restaurant that recently opened near our neighborhood, and we decided to have lunch there. We arrived at the restaurant when it opened at 11 am and parked in their parking lot. The service at our table was friendly, courteous, and very helpful when it came time to place our order (we even asked our server for help in deciding how many dishes to order). There were three of us, and we ordered and shared the following dishes: corn cheese (listed as an appetizer on the menu) and Korean-style marinated short rib (galbi) with hot sauce. The presentations were well done, though additional garnishes could have been added to enhance the visual appeal of the dishes. In terms of taste, all the side dishes were quite delicious (spicy and flavorful), but the corn dish had a dry texture and lacked flavor. It seemed like the corn may have been from a frozen product, as the cheese was stringy and tasteless. Overall, we felt that adding a cream sauce or broth to the dish would have made it more enjoyable for us.

I tried the gamjatang for $11.95 and found the broth to be bland with not enough meat on the black bone. I probably wouldn't order it again. I recommend trying tastier gamjatang dishes near North Road or in Metrotown. The service was good and the bathrooms were clean. This restaurant is located on the road from Burquitlam Skytrain Station.

Parking was good and so was the interior of the restaurant. was impressed by the service and enjoyed my menu choice. managed to eat everything and with my meal left here full and happy. great place for a Korean firm!
