Mi Gallo Tuerto - Copacabana

As TripAdvisor DESTINATION EXPERT for Colombia with 30 years visits and now live 4 years in Medellin and explore only over every city big and small it is my pleasure to offer this justified and accurate rating of Mi Gallo Tuerto. Yes... this is my third evaluation of this restaurant for no better reason than it holds a special place, as it was one of the first restaurants I had eaten at my first visit to Medellin almost 11 years ago, and secondly I just happen to live about 8 minutes away and so I get to know every time I go to Medellin and go back, which is a lot. First I am so glad that it is reopened and not closed out of business because of quarantine and 7 months. I had lunch here today, December 1, 2020 with a friend and had the salad. Everything is fresh and they serve a large part. Look at the picture. The deserts are also very tasty and freshly baked. The service is excellent and the only complaint I would have is that the car park is very busy especially on a Friday late afternoon and also a Sunday, as the families leave the city or return from their fincas outside the city. A simple 5 stars, because the service could not be better, nor the food fresher nor the value, everything is good. As always, I recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Excellent food at a Good Price, Caters for all, with an area, more suited to a Truck Stop, through to a full blown Restaurant. The Menu caters from quick and tasty, through menu of the day, to a full menu and full bar. The Staff...are very friendly and accommodating, if you wish to change something on the menu.

Every time I'm in Medellin, especially North past Copa, with my extended family and friends we end up stopping and eating here. This place is a main stay for Paisa's and therefore gets very busy each weekend. I have been eating here for the past...5 years. I have tried many of the dishes along with the drinks and ice cream desserts and everything is great tasting. Authentic atmosphere, good service, good food and a great place to hang out and enjoy a few hours of an evening with friends.

Mi Gallo Tuerto is part of a complex on the Motorway from Medellin to Barbosa, alongside a Petrol Station and a couple of shops, you think it is just another roadside Cafe, until you enter... The place is huge, with different areas, fast food, snacks,...Bar, and sit down Restaurant, swimming pool, and Childrens play area. The Restaurant has an varied menu, the food quality is excellent, and there is plenty of it, the service is friendly and fast, but there is no suggestion that they want you to eat up and leave. You only have to visit on a week-end or Fiesta to know you should have booked beforehand, the opening hours do vary slightly, but it opens at 7am and closes between 11.30pm and 1am depending on the day. This Restaurant, is family friendly, and yet at the same time is ideal for couples wanting an intimate meal. Well worth a visit, and we have already made a return trip.

Nice atmosphere. Seems like most people were there for birthday, wedding or date. Super casual decor but many people dressed up a bit. Very attentive staff. Good food. Had the fish and the steak. I'd recommend the steak. The fish was okay, nothing amazing. Excellent...hot and freshly made patacones are brought to you to begin, free of charge. Drinks from the bar were nicely made.
