Essence Coolum Seafood - Coolum Beach

The food at this restaurant is delicious. We ordered the platter for two, which actually fed three of us. The fish bites, prawn cutlets, and calamari strips were especially tasty.

After reading some questionable reviews, I was hesitant to dine at this restaurant on Easter Monday. However, due to limited options, I decided to take a chance - and I'm glad I did. The crumbed cod was juicy and delicious, though not the largest portion of fish I've ever had. The crumbed seafood sticks were also tasty, and the chips were good. The serving size was huge - we ordered a large serving and it was too much for our group of four. The Hawaiian burger was massive and scrumptious, and the employee at the counter was very friendly. I must note that a picky teenager had already picked off the bacon before I could snap a photo, so the picture doesn't do the burger justice.

During our vacation, we ordered takeout from this restaurant multiple times. The food was excellent, with fresh and flavorful fish, perfectly cooked calamari that wasn't rubbery, and reasonable prices.

75 worth of fish chips calamari ordered and after waiting 45 minutes received two small packages. order missing 1 piece of fish from three ordered and no chips. then had to wait for chips and the other piece...fish. definitiw not worth the waiting time. soggy chips tiny pieces of fish that were bland and tasteless ...do not deft the many or the considerable wait

Grilled snapper $11) was apparently damped, and completely tasteless no traces of oil. It was the smallest, thinnest filet that I have barely served twice with the size of a small lemon wedge. like half a filet in comparison to what in most fish and chip shops. calamari was good. nice child behind the counter, probably not his fault. will not be back. very disappointed.
