Grandma's Pancake House - Cookeville

I went looking for Different, and found it. Had the mushroom omelet with mushroom sherry gravy. Maria, my waitress brought me a sample of it and I went with that order. The omelet was definitely different as the egg was whipped with a lot of air in it. That made the finished product quite thick. I added some hot sauce to it as I thought it to be less flavorful than expected. Certainly the air whipped into it was the culprit, but honestly, with the gravy and the sparing use of hot sauce this was a very interesting meal. The dish was accompanied with three pancakes. They were small yet fluffy. Decent taste, but cold by time you get to them. I did think the syrup was a good flavor, though I do see some folks mentioning it in their reviews, I thought it was quite good. My coffee cup never went empty. I was Very Pleased with my waitress, Maria. Very attentive and timely. All said, my visit here lefy me wanting to try more of the menu, so I will be back.

Very friendly service, great prices and portion sizes, and the restaurant was very clean. The only reason for four stars versus five was that my wife's eggs were a little bit dry and the potato pancakes were not what I was anticipating in the style of an Eastern European style potato pancake versus being more like a regular pancake. If I could give 1/2 stars, this would actually be 4 1/2 stars.

Oh my gosh a must go!!! The food was fabulous but best of all was the fresh squeezed orange juice.

I was shocked by the vipe when we walked in, but the food and service were EXCELLENT!! pancakes were fluffy and flavorful and my husband's corned beef hash was amazing!

Stopped her on way back to North Carolina. Food was very good and service top notch. They were busy but the staff handled it great. Our food came quickly and was hot. The pancakes were sweeter than most but so good. The omelets have pancake batter mixed in. It's not your average omelet. I got the Eggs Michael and everything was delicious. Coffee was good also. Ended with a cherry crepe. It was good but no filling just cherries over the crepe. Our server was very attentive and friendly. It was a super experience. We will certainly be back if passing through again.
