A Fish Called Coogee

Fresh fish marinated. Bok choy with sauce... And some chips. It was delicious. The restaurant opened when I lived in Coogee 17 years ago. Still going strong. Gotta say something about the place!

Normally when you go into a fish a chips shop, you'd expect battered fish and chips.At "A Fish Called Coogee", they have all the fresh seafood marinated in their counter uncooked so that they can cook to order. They serve sides like bok choy served with ginger and soy. This is so delicious and so much healthier then just eating fish served with chips. Check out the photo I have uploaded, the giant king prawns are the the biggest prawns I've ever seen. At $5 a pop and cooked on the barbie you can't go wrong.The restaurant is trendy and well presented, my only feedback is that they food does take a while to come out, but I guess you can't rush perfection.

Great fresh fish. Chosen by you and you pay by the weight. Amazing fish and flavor options. I suggest takeaway and eating it on the grass by the beach. Definitely a locals favourite

Dieser Grill-Imbiss ist wirklich außergewöhnlich. Man bestellt aus eine Variation von unzähligen marinierten oder natürlichen Fisch oder Meerefrüchten, die in der Theke schön dargeboten sind, zahlt, erhält eine Nummer und nach ein paar Minuten kommt frischer Fisch vom Grill auf den Teller. Dazu Gemüse., z.B. Pak Choi in Austernsauce. Es gibt ein paar Bänke innen, besser aber sind die Bänke am Bürgersteig mit Blick aufs Meer.Besonders angenehm: B.Y.O., z.B. eine Flasche Wein eigener Wahl im benachbarten Bottle Shop!

Needing an early meal A Fish on Coogee was the family's choice. The little one chose the fish and chips and the parents had to choose from a range of fresh or marinated fish in various sauces. The salmon in its sauce was fantastic and for a change Thai fish cakes were chosen, complemented by freshly cooked Bol Choy and salad. The appeal of A fish called Coogee is the freshness of the fish, the delightful smiles and the casualness of the bistro. If you are looking for a casual meal, at the beach this is the place to be.
