I have been on a quest to find decent BBQ in So Cal. Bludso's is the best that I have had in So Cal so far. Why? Because they get it right as far as the good smokey BBQ flavor with their meat. Wanting to taste the meat, I ordered the meat by itself with the BBQ sauce on the side. The brisket was fairly moist and had a good smokey, beefy flavor. The pork ribs also had a good smokey flavor. The meat was however a tad dry. The beef ribs were somewhat disappointing because theydid not taste smokey and the meat was a bit dry. I, of course, ordered the sauce on the side as any true meat lover will do. There was sweet, spicy and mix (combining sweet and spicy). The sweet was my favorite having a perfect blend ofsweet and savory complimenting well the meat. The spicy was a tad too much for me taking away from the flavor of the meat. Parking is a challenge here as there is really no lot and just street parking. Also, there is really no place to sitdown and eat. Limited seating in back.
Went for my first time. The wait was a very long. Once I opened the carton my mouth started to water. The ribs were awesome, very tender and tasty. the brisket was also very good. the sauce was good and has a god kick to it. was shocked how much meat I hit for about $11. everyone was nice and polite. will definitely be going back, but will call my order in first.
Slow 'n low real deal awesome 'dream about it ' BBQ on Long Beach Blvd. NOTE it is NOT IN Long Beach as some other reviewer said. It 's in Compton. The owner Kevin Bludso loves his Q and it shows. Ribs. Amazing. Beans...the way they should be made. They start the meat in the dark of the middle of the night and cook it slow and low until it 's time for you to put it in your mouth. If they are 'out ' they are out. No running back and putting some more on. Thisstuff has been smoking for hours the way it should. The sauce is so good I want to buy it by the gallon and take it home. But this Q is so good it doesn 't need sauce. Bring your appetite.
My two friend's and I tried the Texas Sampler for $34.00. It's okay. Definitely a lot of food and a great value. All three of us couldn't finish it, and it lasted me another breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The meat is a bit dry and crumbly on some pieces and very good and moist of some others. The Mac and cheese is awesome as well as the BBQ beans, which have bits of meat in it to add to the BBQ flavor. The bread it came with is a joke, as it was just two pieces of smallwhite bread slices you'd get from a standard supermarket bread loaf. I would suggest they change that to some dinner rolls instead and add some little butter packets. The sauce on the meat is really good. Very complex that manages totaste sweet, smokey, and spicy at the same time. It's worth a try but I don't see myself going back anytime soon.
