I've been going to a comacchio for the eel festival for years and the passage to the pizzicante is a tradition and a pleasure. This is the ideal place you are looking for an authentic place, outside the most touristy restaurants present in the historic center of the city. the local is located inside a gallery but it is worth stopping to taste an original piadina.

I come to visit this place almost every year whenever I am in this corner of Italy. It was recommended to me by my business partner as a place, where one could buy the finest home made products available. That I can confirm we are speaking about a family owned business, where quality stands on the first place. Salami, cheese, balsamico vinegar, vine of all sorts, excellent home made chocolate, jam...whatever you say. Although the place is small, the interior is cosy and ideal for a cup of coffee or even something bigger. The only disadvantage is a bit higher but acceptable price and the fact the owner does not speak English well, but we always get by without problems.

We came across this place by accident whilst visiting Comacchio. After initially buying some delicious Parmesan made from buffalo milk, we decided to stay for lunch before setting off for Venice. Lovely tasty panino with Parma ham and salad, and a very friendly service.
