Tal Y Cafn - Colwyn Bay

After a table had booked 30 min on the table had to wait again for the service someone else had to wait for everything, eating was very disappointed e.g. chowder had 3 pieces garne the rest was carrot-sweden and kartoffeln. mushroom pasta was explained with what was declared half a chicken breast, but all it was 3 cubes.

Poor service throughout. One meal out of 4 was cold on arrival (although this was promptly replaced when asked), and another turned up 10 minutes after everyone else's. Several of the options on the menu both main courses and desserts had run out. We were told that the head chef had walked out on the previous Sunday and it was an unusually busy night, but we had booked in advance. Though the food when it turned up was very good, we wont be returning.

It’s a difficult one, there were clearly a few teething problems. It took 40 minutes to have our order taken and this was after our drinks order was wrong. Half an hour after our food order was taken we were informed the kitchen had ran out of most of the food we’d ordered and we would be getting someone completely different. The table next to us had the same issue and ended up walking out. The staff were very friendly and were clearly aware that the problems in the kitchen were effecting the customers experience. They did what they could to make the situation better. I think once the new staff and owners have found their feet it will be a fab restaurant, they just need to iron out the creases.

Forgot to give us our knife and fork after our starter came, main came and they forgot starter and fish and chips very undercooked batter was like leather and the chips were way off being done. Will not return
