Stopped in for a quick warm-up and a beer. Chili and Gumbo were hot and delicious. Pumpkin Cask beer was tasty. And there was a pop-up group of musicians playing Irish music. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I’ve been a customer since they first opened. I could look up my spending in my Quicken account, but I’d rather not know how much I’ve invested here, given that we used to eat here almost weekly for many years and also used their catering for several family events. This place used to be great (and it’s only a few blocks away from home). However, they had ridiculous pandemic policies and even closed for a time. I tried to support them again because they are a local business with which we had positive experiences in the past, but I think it’s time to say goodbye to Barleys Smokehouse.
