Downtown bar, in a post pandemic/labor shortage era, can be respectfully viewed with angst. Irish themed ones cause even more consternation. This place is decent. The day I went, I had been aiming for another city center eatery, but it was closed as it had shortened its hours due to COVID related business slumps in this heavy office area still has lots of work at home folks. I came here as a fall back. It was a warm day, and an outside area countertop area with seating that faced the inside bar was open and inviting. Very cool. I went inside to await my friends. The dark and stereotypical American Irish bar theme is well done. This place looks like it's been a downtown bar forever. It hasn't been, so well done on the decor. Large beer and drink selection? Yes. TouchTunes? Bonus! Attentive and funny weekday daytime staff? Yes! The not so good: parking is a challenge in this area. On street if you're lucky. Nearby garages if you're serious. Transit or cab/ride share if you're a serious drinker. Great place for the nearby hotel guests. Also, I paid something like $4 per tall boy cans of macrobrew. Not bad in most cities, but on the higher end for Columbus Ohio. That being said, if it's to pay downtown rents and hopefully paid good wages to strong staffers, that's understandable. I did not order food, but there were clearly regulars stopping by for fried fish and chips plates. Looked good. I plan to give it a try. My first time here won't be my last. Let's do what we can to keep slow recovering urban area bars and restaurants open. They need us, and when they're gone, they're awfully hard to bring back. Cheers!
Joel pulls an excellent Pint of Guinness. Fantastic, knowledgeable bartender.
Waitress was very slow and she only had 3 tables. Very limited on food choices.
