Granby Grill - Columbia

Positives: -The food is made to order. -The staff is very friendly. -The fries are the best in Columbia. -If there is an issue with the food, they are accommodating. Negatives: -The restaurant is located next to a nail salon, so the overwhelming smell of acetone hits you when you walk in. -It can take a while to get your order in and be served if there are multiple tables. There is usually only one person serving all the tables and the bar. -The music is always loud. -The prices are a bit high, as certain items like chicken tenders or wings do not come with fries and have to be purchased separately. Fries alone cost $5 and dipping sauces like ranch are $1 each.

The restaurant may want to improve their cleanliness practices in the kitchen. I noticed that no one was wearing gloves and saw a staff member touch their face before handling food. It was clear that sanitation was not a priority here. The interior was nice and had a cool atmosphere, but the lack of cleanliness in the kitchen could drive away customers. The prices were high, with a Philly cheesesteak and fried mushrooms costing $24. The food was bland and lacked flavor, although the fries were the best part of the meal. I typically leave tips at most places, but I didn't feel comfortable doing so after my experience.

I had a great dining experience on my first visit to this restaurant, with delicious food and prompt, courteous service. Every time I return, I continue to have the same positive experience. Each table has a unique time period or style, creating a cool atmosphere. Granby Grill opened just one month before the pandemic hit, and I believe their excellent food quality is what has helped them survive.

Cool little spot. Love the fact that they have pinball machines. Ice cold beer also. Will have to check out the food the next time I go there.

The food was just not too good. My sons fried shrimp were over cooked. My medium steak came out beyond well done and really sour due to the balsamic vinegar marinade. They did offer to substitute which was nice but my bacon substitute was greasy, and not crispy or hot. My husbands pancakes were ok and the fried mushrooms were pretty good.
