Bidrage med feedbackBlueberries everywhere! It was here we learned about blueberries in Maine. The fresh pastries and snacks and yummy! The history lessons they have are really interesting too! If you like roadside attractions, stop here for sure!
This place was a childhood favorite of mine. i loved the mini golf, pie, and candy machine more than anything and was really disappointed when they turned it into a gift shop/museum. however, the owners are just the kindest people and i completely understood the tax costs of their other features. even though it isnt as great as it once was i would feel bad giving these sweet people anything less than five stars!!
I'm giving it a one star out of frustration. We're visiting from out of town and had Google searched for the best blueberry pie, and this was one of the returns. Went to their website to confirm they were open, but no times are listed. Checked the Google site which said they opened at 10. Got there at 11:30, and although someone was there, the place was closed. I understand being closed during off season, but ya gotta make it easier to find out
Wild Blueberry Land was even better than I anticipated. They have AMAZING blueberry goods at extremely reasonable prices. Fresh baked goods for cheap, blueberry-themed everything, and a little (somewhat corny) exhibit on the history of wild blueberries in Maine. We left feeling like we got good value for our money, and a little more knowledgeable about wild Maine blueberries. The service was immediate, friendly, and fast and we weren't kept waiting for even a second. The blueberry pie we bought was hot, fresh, and the best pie I've ever enjoyed. The blueberry scone was delightful, and the blueberry muffin was the platonic ideal of a blueberry muffin.
Cute, funny little place, with many things to purchase if you choose; prices are quite high though. Blueberry pie was okay, but lacking in blueberry flavor due to having too much cinnamon and being too sweet. A little lemon juice would help to bring out the blueberry flavor and cut the sweetness; and the cinnamon could be eliminated entirely to improve the pie.
