Bidrage med feedbackWhat a truly unique combination of flavors a bit Mexican, a bit Cuban, a healthy dose Korean... I had the Guava Lava taco and the Kimchi taco and both were good from this world. I also had the kimchi quesadilla and it was huge and so SO delicious (yes, I am a big kimchi fan). I also patterned the ropa vieja and that was similar amazing. The Cuban pastry dessert with cream cheese frosting and Guava paste was worthy of any bakery, so flaky and buttery and satisfying. And the elephant? The only things I didn't live were the picadillo empanadas that were good, but maybe not quite at the same level as the rest. The place is small and the loud music makes casual conversation a little challenging, but they work on a large terrace dining area that can relieve these problems on days when the weather is good. And I totally dig out the funky interior. Eat here! You won't find anything like that.
The food options were decent, although limited for my vegetarian friend. The atmosphere is really cool, actually, although a little loud of you're looking to chat with your group. The food tastes great, although it takes a little long to come out. However the service is pretty attentive. All in all I think it's a decent spot to hit up, and pretty flavorful!
We were looking for a quick late lunch early dinner and decided to try Piglatin Cocina. I am very glad we did! We started with their signature Margarita. It was a little small but also not filled to the brim with ice. It was the right mix of sweet and tart with a salty rim. For our meal I had the OG Stacked Arepa (gluten free). It was packed with flavor! The crispy arepa with a soft interior, topped with sweet pork and stringy mozzarella cheese, barely noticeable spinach (although my immune system thanked me for eating it) and spicy sriracha made for a perfectly delectable bite. If you are not a fan of spicy food, I would recommend asking for the sriracha lite or on the side. I wanted to try one of the tacos and chose the Guava Lava Chicken (gluten free). I ate this second and I was very glad I did! This taco was SPICY! I would order it again and absolutely eat it last. I like spicy food (medium hot is my preference) and this was hot hot. Before the heat took over, I could tell the texture was delightful and the flavor was delicious. My husband had the Piglatin Plate (gluten free). It was savory, salty and sweet. The amount of food was just right for a lunch portion. He also had the Yuca wedges (gluten free although fried in the same oil as gluten containing foods). They were ok and a nice side but he would likely try something else next time. TL;DR The Street Tacos and Plates are all gluten free or can be made gluten free. The sides are fried in the same oil as the empanadas.
Fantastic latin/Cuban inspired bar/restaurant. Offers outside, take-out and online service. Tried the kimci and island tacos. Yum, yum!!! Very fresh ingredients and tasty product. The spicy smoked pork sandwich is outstanding. Also really enjoyed the Mexican street style corn. They also offer a military/veteran discount.
This is a really unique and awesome place to eat! I had an island taco which was really good and shared the Caribbean nachos with some friends; definitely some of the best nachos I?ve ever had. The garlic parm fries were also really good. Really nice view of the mountains from outside. Will definitely come back again!
