We stopped by here because it’s a must-do while in Colorado Springs. We wanted to get one of the bees they throw and try out their menu. The atmosphere was really cool. Their food was tasty and nicely presented. The staff was courteous and very helpful. Of note… they have gluten free options and also prepare fried foods in separate oils for those with shellfish allergies.

The majority of these stars come from service. We ate at The Golden Bee on June 19th, so that the pub was almost completely empty what we liked. The waiters (we came during a shift change) were super attentive and even found a number of readers so my mother can read the menu. If you want a preview of the type of service you would receive in the main hotel, the pub is a great preview. But the food... I'm not sure if the menu is from the 1800s or if it should only imitate the type of pub food you had if the Broadmoor was new, but the taste was quite dated. Nothing we ordered was especially great and some of our foods were just bad (I had a burned catfish fillet). And at the price, you expect to get hurt. However, the manager has replaced the catfish and our drinks were strong, so overall we had a good time. And if you're a historical buff, the decor is a fun journey back. I especially loved the toilet wallpaper and tiles.

I'm sure the locals are familiar with this place, but it was our first visit. We had a great time here! It's a charming old art pub-style restaurant with fantastic food and attentive servers. Everyone was kind and made sure our needs were met during our meal. If you're there at 9:00, they even have singing! We enjoyed the filled "färgers" and mashed potatoes, as well as chicken pancakes loaded with tender chicken and short ribs that were incredibly delicate. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. We also had a delightful surprise!
