Great service food was not bad seemed a little pricey but everything is going up in price. Everything was very
Food is delicious, and fast. The place is very comfortable and relaxing, and the service is very good. I don't like that they charge $3.50 for a 16 oz bottle of soda, that's too high for no refill. Vegetarian options: They have several vegetable dishes and some vegan options Parking: Parking is around back. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for the front door.
Our go-to for Asian dishes! Perfect for a date night. We drive 30 minutes to come here because it’s got Asian charm and dependable, quality food. Nice little dining room decorated in typical Asian decor. Speedy service. Priced fairly. Generous portions. Quiet hide-away. One waitress for all tables does an excellent job, attentive, quick. Food is good and served hot. A great mom and pop place that offers a pleasant dining experience. Support them so this long-standing jewel can weather these difficult times. Enjoy a little date night out. Go here instead of chain restaurants like Applebees or fast food Asian takeout. We are losing our family-owned dine in restaurants for lack of local love. They have a party room. Awesome place for a family dinner party, or pre-wedding dinner, or baby shower, etc.
These ratings are comparing Peking Garden with other Chinese food places in the Edwardsville area (so including Glen Carbon, Collinsville, Maryville, Alton, Wood River). The food is good! Fresh, appealing, good colors and textures. Everything is well prepared. The only reason I don’t give it 5 starts is that the dishes I tried were a little bit bland. The sauce for tofu curry was not very flavorful (tasted a bit like chicken broth though I know it’s a vegetarian dish), and the sauce for garlic broccoli was more sweet and salty than it was garlicky. Just not taking advantage of the flavor potential of these dishes, and compared with other curries and garlic sauces in Midwestern Chinese restaurants, not impressive. But the tofu was expertly cooked, with a nice crisp outside and soft inside. The cashews in the cashew chicken were soft and sweet as well as nutty—delicious! The deep fried appetizers were crisp and flavorful (perfect wontons and crab Rangoon) and the vegetable soup was savory and nuanced in flavor. So, overall, I think this is really an excellent place to get Chinese food in the area. Prices are comparable to other places. There was space to accommodate a large group, and the owner-server was pleasant, attentive, skillful, and also honest—when she was understaffed and didn’t have the capacity to prepare mixed drinks, she just said so. No problem with overpromising, which I truly appreciate. Comfortable, homey, family atmosphere. We will absolutely choose this place every time for Chinese, in the future! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options, but they vary in their distinctiveness and flavorful-ness.
