Rock Dell Steak House & Tavern

I don 't normally leave reviews but the food was so bad I have to warn others. Been there twice, terrible both times. Service slow food is terrible. 30 minutes to take drink order another 30 to get drink. Over an hour and a half to get food. The place was not busy 1/2 of tables in open section were empty. Other section was closed with no lights. So the place was less than 1/4 full. No reason for such a long wait and this is a regular occurrence from looking at a review from a year ago. Bread is from a bargain grocery store, bland and tasteless. Salad bar is pathetic, you can get better salads prepackaged from from grocery store. Salad dressings taste worst than No Name Brand. Carrots were boiled to the point where they were mush and the orange colour was faded to a pastel colour. Seafood chowder was cream and and bits of potato, no seafood. Cook does not cook to match order but cooks the way he wants. Bacon wrapping steak was raw. Steak was ordered medium well and arrived rare. Lobster was over cooked to death. No one at the table got the steak the way they ordered it. Portion size is large but getting more bad food is not a good thing. A beginner cooking at home can make a better meal. Do not waste time or money. Plenty of better options in Collingwood.

I had pickerel, my husband had steak. Both were swimming in water from the boiled carrots, that were mushy. Couldn't pick them up on a fork. Lentil soup was almost too salty to eat. Anyone with heart failure would have to double their meds. Greek salad was with iceburg lettuce and had cucumber, tomato, and olives, no onion or peppers. Dressing was creamy caesar...AND.... They gave a guy his take-out soup in a used sour cream container!!!! Pretty sure that's against health and safety codes. Very disappointing after reading reviews. Only plus? Waitress and hostess were courteous and polite.

This has happened twice now. On an occasion..this last one being Mother's Day, we ordered big expensive meals for take-out(because of covid) and were very disappointed. The surf and turf which was $45, came without the potato or vegetable....the scallops came without the potato as well. We were so disappointed when we opened up the containers and found those items missing. This is not right when you are paying big bucks for these meals. The same thing happened at New Years except when my husband went to pick up our order, they had lost it and they had to cook it all while he waited....very unorganized. Other than take out, if you eat in it's good but forget take out!!
