Crystal Buffet - Collingwood

We were destroyed when we found out that their buffet is not available. only menu order was available for time. they could have made available at least All-You-Can-Eat by bringing food to the table with customer order requests. the place is overall look and feeling was very boring. only the simple minimal furniture were made to mark it as a restaurant serving Chinese food. my group was the only customer who came to the restaurant at the time that was something after the lunchtime. the food taste and the price were typical of what you can expect from a Chinese restaurant. my group of 5 people ordered set meals for 6 and there was still much to take after it is as expected.

We did takeout as the restaurant is closed for indoor dining due to COVID. I really wanted to like this place, as I really needed a Chinese food fix, and was hoping to find something decent locally. The staff is super friendly. The food, unfortunately was disappointing. I grew up in Toronto eating in the Chinese restaurants of Chinatown, Scarborough and Markham, so I have been spoiled by very good Chinese food. I wasn't expecting authenticity like Chinatown's Rol San, but it wasn't even a reasonably close facsimile. BBQ pork slices came swimming in gelatinous sweet and sour sauce, I have never seen BBQ pork served like this! Veggies were over cooked to the point of being soggy. The Shanghai noodles were over cooked and mushy. The Mao Po Tofu was sour, like it was either spoiled or vinegar was added to the dish. As the friendly as the staff is, I wish the food was better!

Would definitely not recommend. The food was not very tasty and under seasoned. The pad Thai was almost ok. There are some very good restaurants in Collingwood which would be a better choice.

Awesome buffet located in west end of collingwood right beside the galaxy cinema and near Many other shops and businesses aswell. This is a multi style buffet with tons of different food choices that are all good quality and tasty. Waitresses and employees all seem to be pleasant aswell.

Terrible. Waited 45 minutes for the food.Uber eats driver was awesome. Owner of the restaurant basically told us to give him a terrible rating wave I explained that he sent the food without cutlery to people in a hotel. It’s alright. We ate it with our hands. Wasn’t really good enough to warrant the use of cutlery anyhow.There’s still about 2/3 of the meal in the trash at the Blue Mountain Inn if anyone wants to give it a try.
