Atlanta Hawks Grill - College Park

For an airport restaurant, the service was excellent (we kept being affectionately referred to as baby in a good way like sugar or honey), food better than expected, and ambiance a bit like we 're at a sports bar (which it is) not in an airport. The Philly Cheesesteak was flavorful, hot, and hit the spot. The tots are crispy on the outside. The Hawk 's burger came with all the fixings plus bacon and egg how you like it. The patty was tasty and done medium to medium rare (my preference). Our gate was within eyeshot, making this spot a good place to wait for boarding and fill up on good food.

Sat there for 15 minutes w no acknowledgment. There were others who got served. I went up to the bar and was told I would have to wait shift change in 10 minutes. I said I had been waiting 15 minutes and they said sorry too bad. Horrible service. All of the restaurants in the airport have horrible service.

A typical airport bar/restaurant. The service was really good and our waitress was attentive. When I go to an airport restaurant I honestly don't expect much but was pleasantly surprised. We were in and out within an hour for our next flight. The menu was very small- as most are but it came quickly. I ordered the chicken sandwich and added hot sauce. It came with fries, side salad or tater tots. The fries were actually quite good. The chicken was hot and crispy. 10/10 for the wine pour though. They had my favorite Chardonnay on the menu and it was a heavy pour!

This sure was a pleasant surprise. I had a layover and was looking for a late dinner. Most of the places more central to the terminal were packed so I decided to walk around. Good thing that I did. At the end of the terminal was this spot. Relatively peaceful and not a huge crowd. So I decided to slide up to the ginormous bar and get a bite. The service wasn't excellent, but hey it's a sports bar in an airport. What do you think you would get? Anyway, I ordered the Philly cheese steak because I wanted to be unconscious on the next leg of my flight and this easily helped me along. IT was surprisingly tasty. It wasn't massive, but it was just the right size. The fries were also pretty well done. I couldn't believe I was getting above average food in an airport. This to me was an oasis that I was happy to have found.
