Rock Garden Cafe - Colfax

I ordered the catfish, and it was excellent! It wasn't greasy at all and didn't have a fishy taste. I also tried the homemade hummus and pita chips, which were delightful. The staff was very friendly, and the establishment was clean.

I want to start by emphasizing the importance of presentation in our dining experience—it makes up about 60% of the enjoyment when eating out. While I won’t return to a place with great food but poor service, I’m definitely drawn back by average food accompanied by excellent service. On my way home, I stopped by the Colfax Rock Diner on Hwy 71, and I was truly impressed. The staff was not only friendly and sincere but also highly professional, and the food was exceptional. It reminded me of the charming mom-and-pop diners my grandfather used to take me to when I was young. This diner serves delicious Southern cuisine in a warm, family-friendly setting. The food at this restaurant is both delicious and uncomplicated. You truly get exactly what you order. Everything was fresh and bursting with flavor. I sampled the hummus with pita chips, which was outstanding. I also had the lamb gyro, and it was expertly made and tasted amazing. My mom, who is quite discerning about her meals, opted for the shrimp po'boy and almost polished off the entire dish. This place is a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere, and I highly recommend stopping by!
