The Chequers - Colchester

11 of us out for an evening meal. Absolutely first class drink, food and service generally. Very, very highly recommended. After the difficulty for hospitality venues over the last 18 months, support your pubs and if you need one recommended, then I would offer this one.

Visited a busy restaurant on a Sunday and had a fantastic experience. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly and hospitable. There was nothing to complain about and I will definitely be returning again and again. I cannot find any faults. Thank you to Terry and the staff for a wonderful time.

Very good all round visit excellent well kept real ale, welcoming landlord and efficient serving staff, tasty and very reasonably priced food menu. And those extras like a fire going in the wood burning stove. Stopped off here on route on the Essex Way.

Best lasagne I have ever had…my husband loved his roast pork too which is unusual to have on a menu other than for Sunday lunch…will definitely be back

Excellent sunday lunch, very nice butternut squash soup to start and lovely crumble for dessert. Fixed price 3 courses great value
