Cougna-Bar - Cognac

I love this old restaurant bar that kept its vintage side with staff at the very nice top, good music with David who is very brave, Kelly who was in top cuisine and the new young waitress very nice.

We sat down and we waited, we only wanted a drink! We waited more no one acknowledged us and the staff were starting to put things away. Our friend went to the toilet… still no acknowledgement! So decided to move to the bar next door…. I work in hospitality and was shocked at what happened next!! The guy came over and started calling my husband a C**t!!! WTF!!! In front of everyone in cognac main square you verbally assaulted a tourist shame on you!! Seriously just nod at people so they know you are there. Don’t go at them!

Rude staff, poor service, appear anti British, do not give this bar your hard earned money. If you appear British you won’t get bread or water with your meal, even though those around you do. Pretend not to understand you, in French as well as odd English but then when suits can converse. Food ok, but experience left a bad taste, choose others in the area….we wish we had
