The Trout - Cockermouth

Champagne afternoon tea was lovely good food and good staff. The hotel dining room is a lovely warm inviting place to eat the decor is lovely

The service was excellent. Best steak I had in a long time. We sat in the dinning area, very cosy. Beautiful place, highly recommend it.

Afternoon tea with friends. A very enjoyable afternoon with friends at the Trout. Afternoon tea was excellent fresh sandwiches delicate cakes and a small cup of tomato soup. With a variety of teas and coffee which were always replenished. Excellent staff who served and accomadated those with dietery requirements. We had so much food we all brought a box home with us. All in all we had a lovely time and will be back. Well done to the Trout and Staff. (A review has also been posted on Trip Advisor .

Fantastic 1 night stay in Executive River view room. This was a free upgrade and was immaculately clean and all looked like it had recently been refurbished. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Was on a Dinner, bed and breakfast deal but unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked. We had to eat in the bar but this was fine and food was very nice. We had fillet steak which was undercooked so we sent it back. This was not a problem and 5 minutes or so it came back cooked as we had requested. Overall it did not spoil the dining experience. I would highly recommend this hotel if wanting to stay in a beautiful hotel with great accommodation and lovely staff. This was our third stay at this hotel and will definitely return again. Dinner bed and breakfast is a fantastic deal if available. Thanks again to Sue and all the team.

Came today for the breakfast with Santa Staff were all very welcoming and helpful. There was a wide selection of breakfast food. Very well organised and we thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be recommending it to others. Thank you all .
