Sesselbahn Terrassen Cafe - Cochem

Don't go here. The view is beautiful, but the service is terrible. There were two waiters who serve the whole terrace. Both were just rude at the order, could not answer any question we had and at the end came to say to us and others... we had to pay and go. The most reddish experience ever!

It is what it is: a tourist trap. The beer was a refreshing break from hiking after someone waited for us. Our beers were enjoyed and empty while the waiter enjoyed a smoke, a cell phone break, some play on his phone... Telephone and easy laying around, while all people on the terrace were thirsty or simply wanted their bill. We wanted another beer, but decided to leave money, get up and go. This place obviously has a long history of this and shames me not to read the reviews before deciding to go. Well, if you're awfully thirsty, LOTS have time and how about expensive drinks. I'm not back.

There were two people out there that we could see a young man and a younger dark-haired woman. the woman was our server. totally rude. the lookout is amazing, the experience on the sesselbahn was great and all the others were friendly. the waitress was super rude and it wasn't busy at all.

Take the chair lift up. The restaurant has a terrace overlooking Cochem, the Mosel and across to the castle. Did not eat here but spent time relaxing with a couple of glasses of wine. Nice friendly service. Great place to relax on a nice afternoon.

Unfortunately we got rained out during our ride. Luckily we had a covered chairlift. Didn't know there was a restaurant at the top. We jumped back on the chairlift to go back down. Was disappointed there wasn't any spectacular views going up or down.
