Lovely Carvery at reasonable price, pleasant dining areas, polite staff, free parking.

Very disappointed with this hotel. The rooms are excellent but thiss hotel is let down in many aspects. There WiFi is absolutely the worst I've ever experienced in a hotel. There tv service in the rooms again is shocking the screen sizes of some channels is wrong ...the picture quality I'm not sure what it is but ain't HD which I would expect as a minimum on an IPTV platform or whatever the HD system they are using is again the worst I have ever experienced. Many channel missing and having to use two remotes why??? I'm a tv engineer to be clear and I'm.lost for words about this But where I am really angry with this hotel is the price increase for an Irish breakfast which went from €12.50 which then jumped to € 15 when I complained I was told it was due to the VAT increase....this was 4% not a 2.50 euro Increase this is now the most expensive breakfast I've paid in a hotel ever ... I went to a five star star hotel after moving location when I left here and it was 12.95 for breakfast you really need to consider this price ....and look into my above complaints. Where the hotel excels is the food in the bar in the evenings. The food is absolutely fantastic.

Had food here. Great venue and refurbished since we last visited. Service was a little slow and staff has to be prompted for menus and for taking our order. More staff required behind the bar as service was very very slow. Food was excellent and no issues at all. Starters were good and also main meals were great as well. Fab venue and would go again. See you soon.

Went to the wheat bar for dinner and drinks to watch the rugby World Cup. The bar was very busy but the staff did extremely well and were very polite. My only complaint is when we asked for the tv volume to be turned up we were told by I think she was a manager that the volume didn’t work. Extremely disappointing when most people in the bar tonight were there to watch Ireland vs South Africa. We left shortly after as watching a match without sound is not enjoyable. We weren’t the only people to leave. Like I said disappointing.

I stayed at the Talbot Clonmel for training. I was impressed with the Wheat Bar and the food was good and well presented. The waiting staff were friendly and polite. I was however disappointed with the cleaning standards in my room. My bed was well presented but the carpet had crisps on the floor and a cigarette lighter was sticking out from under the bed! I asked at reception if my room could be vacuumed and I was assured that she would look after it....... on return to my room at 7pm the vacuuming hadn't been done......... very disappointing! I mentioned to the young lady at receptionist this morning that the room hadn't been vaccumed and while she apologised and was polite this is not what I would expect of a 4* hotel. No attempt was made by management to speak to me even though I mentioned that I would be there all day!
