Hifi Donuts - Cliff Island

It smells like urine outside the store. Unable to eat outside. The doughnuts were only okay. Little flavor besides sugar. The raised ones had nice texture, but also lacking in flavor and too sweet.

I am not surprised That this business has so many one star reviews which a lot of are regarding the rude service from the guy behind the counter answering the phone. I recommend going elsewhere!

I really wanted to love these. And clearly most people do. But for me, a donut should be soft inside with a thick crisp glaze layer on the outside. The donuts at Hifi were more like cake. The Nutella donut didn't taste like Nutella at all. It was just a glorified chocolate cake. These new donut shops try too hard to be fancy and it's just not for me.

Loads of reviews push tourists to another donut shop but this is the star. We loved the decor and design of the shop, its central location (close to parking) and the vast flavours. We enjoy the blueberry glaze, Mexican hot chocolate and when pigs fly donuts. We’d go back for all 3! Extremely flavourful, light and tasty. Hidden gem! ?

Very solid bake on these donuts, but the outer shell lacks crispness. Note they’re more a custard style, and the sweetness is mild. I love it. However, the matcha isn’t very matcha. I’d love more matcha in that glaze… then, 5 stars. The ham and cheese is a great deal. Nice hot donut.
