The Cheese Shop - Cleveland

I am currently engaged in an experiment (or perhaps a self indulgent quest) to explore the psychoactive effects of authentic English Stilton cheese, especially on dreams. The Cheese Shop at the West Side Market carries a particularly tasty variety of Stilton that I am pleased to report has a pleasantly robust effect on my nocturnal adventures. Apparently 70% of the population reacts to the pennicillium mold strain in Stilton cheese and I am pleased to be among them.To be fair, the Cheese Shop has an extensive collection of cheeses from around the country and the world.The 2005 study by the British Cheese Board also found that cheddar cheese caused celebrities to appear in participants' dreams, Red Leicester was likely to cause dreams of the past while Lancashire focused on the future. But Stilton brought out the very strange and bizarre nocturnal flights and I can attest to the effect.Sorry I cannot go into detail on my dreams to protect the accomplices but I hope to meet you someday in the wee hours of the night. (wink)

Steve's gyro is great. Potion is huge, and the meat is very tasty. Get the sauce on the side as it is very good but very garlicky. A little goes a long way.

Best little cheese booth ever! What I really like are the suggestions and help that the people there offer. For instance... I just fell in love with prairie breeze.. a sharp aged cheddar I used on my stuffed mushrooms (see pics). Way to go! Shop local... and yes, you should tip your market vendors!
