Johnny's Little - Cleveland

We have dined at Johnny’s for over 30 years. Today’s lunch experience was not good. First, they did not have our reservation in the system and seemed like we were inconveniencing them. Secondly, the menu was limited. I had the grouper which was swimming in grease and not appetizing and was fishy smelling. The only sides available which were not on the menu and we had to inquire about, was heavy scalloped potatoes and about 4 haricot vert green beans (literally). The tuna Nicoise was not fresh. Our server James was congenial and did his best to accommodate us. The restrooms are creepy (down the stairs, past a giant metal service cart and storage rooms and long basement hallway) and what I consider not safe since I witnessed a homeless man exiting the restrooms while we were there. They even knew his name. How about a lock on the main door that leads to the restroom basement area? They did not advise us on parking when I called (which is hard to find) BUT my husband discovered on his own the lot next door was available, but you need to use the QR coding pay system which evidently they thought we could not handle (we always use by the way). In other words, I wasn’t fond of our experience today as I have been in the past. Not the Johnny’s I remember.Parking: I called the restaurant to inquire about parking as we approached the restaurant but was told whatever you can find. Ultimately there is a lot next to restaurant that is an limited and unattended. Otherwise it’s street parking with meters.

Had a 5.00pm reservation. Not a sole in sight when we arrived. 10 minutes to get seated and then sat for another 10 minutes before a very nice and apologetic waitress asked if we had been helped. She was actually very sweet and attentive. The shelves by the booth next to us were caked in dust. We asked to see the manager just to bring it to his attention. He could not have been any less interested and simply said…I guess we’ll need to talk to the cleaning company. No attempt at all to apologize. Food was average at best and after spending almost $200 we felt as if price far exceeded the value, ambiance, food quality, service and cleanliness. Think twice before dining here.

Enjoyed celebrating our first wedding anniversary at this well regarded Cleveland institution. The environs are going through a lot of change construction, roadwork, etc but the restaurant remains classic. Great service, good food, quiet ambiance… we enjoyed our special night out. Thank you!

Food was excellent. The waitress was awesome!! We were there for lunch, looking forward to Dinner menu next time!!

Great ambiance and perfect for client lunch. However really disappointed in the grouper, greasy and unpalatable.
