Bidrage med feedbackFantastic brunch, delightful museum setting, and friendly staff – what more could you ask for? Located within the stylish yet inviting atmosphere of the MAG, the Brown Hound Downtown offers hearty American brunches with a sophisticated twist. Their biscuits and gravy are absolutely phenomenal, featuring a perfectly crispy biscuit that holds its own beneath the rich, savory gravy. I also highly recommend the chicken and waffles, which are served on thick Belgian waffles – a game-changing experience. Topped with a spicy syrup, it perfectly complements the crispy chicken. With a team that is consistently friendly and accommodating, I can't recommend this spot enough for a classy yet relaxed brunch!
What a charming little spot for brunch! This cozy café is situated inside the Memorial Art Museum. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends. We had one before heading to a show at the Auditorium Theater, but there was a wait when we were leaving. Our server was friendly and attentive. We kicked things off with coffee, tea, and mimosas. I had heard great things about the French toast casserole, so I decided to try it, and it exceeded my expectations! It was wonderfully sweet and indulgent—like having dessert for breakfast. My mom ordered the chicken and waffles. While it wasn't the best I've ever had, it had a nice balance of sweet and savory flavors. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the experience, and we would definitely return!
I left work and decided to stop here for a late lunch. After a brief wait, I was seated on the balcony with a lovely view of the gallery. I ordered a Cranberry Elderflower drink and Loco Moco for brunch. The drink was a refreshing combination of champagne, elderflower liqueur, and cranberry juice. As for the Loco Moco, it was served over rice, topped with pork belly and a fried egg, accompanied by toast—it was an excellent choice for brunch. The dish included slivers of jalapeño, adding a nice touch of heat. The service was attentive, and the ambiance was pleasant.
A beautiful spot in a museum, a solid service staff, and quality food (and coffee) makes for an enjoyable and satisfying experience. Oddly enough, I found it difficult to locate breakfast establishments in the Neighborhood of the Arts, but on Sundays, this is Brown Hound is definitely the place to go. I had an absolutely wonderful and serene meal, and from looking at the other diners, they were all happy as well.
Great food cool atmosphere wonderful band can't miss with this place for a weekend brunch.
