Bestwood Lodge - City of Nottingham

Restaurant completely lacked atmosphere. It was empty! Food and staff were great though. I would recommend the hotel but advise people to eat elsewhere. The empty restaurant was an uncomfortable experience.

This restaurant seems to be trying hard but still has a fair way to go in terms of food and service. My creme brulee had a soft top.

It was exceptionally quiet what was good for us, we took my mother for valentines because it was the first to die since dad and he always made a fuss of mother to valentines so quiet was good for us, the eating was great, though it was a fixed meal for valentine, the service was excellent and very good value, we would definitely recommend to try x

The hotel was so cold that the half of our party kept their weights during eating, even the fire in the main room was unlit. the half of the main menu was not available, so we selected the bar menu. the fish chips were overcooked. the evening was saved by the young man who was in service, brought us a heating, happy, chatty and as efficient as he could be in a hotel and restaurant that needs new administration and urgent investment.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and the service was outstanding. It’s hard to comment on the ambiance since we were the only ones in the restaurant, likely due to the time of year. However, there were others dining in the bar, who I believe were guests at the hotel. I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t serve cocktails, but the wine we had was excellent.
