Pretty underwhelming stuff. Looks nice, I guess, and I suppose it's good for basic Instagramming.

Good, almost great. Would eat again.I came in with a friend after being influenced by IG. Liked the concept of a sushi bowl instead of rolls. Fish looked fresh and vibrant in photos, and very good reviews on Yelp. Food was very good, but not necessarily great IMO. We started with shishito peppers which were flash fried. Thank goodness they were served with lemon because they didn't taste like much without that splash to wake them up. They were very good with the lemon juice.I ordered the classic sushi bowl which had tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. I added tobiko for an extra dollar or two. My friend ordered the Saba mackerel bowl and also added tobiko. Her fish was much better seasoned than mine. Very flavorful and fish was fresh. My fish was fresh but less flavorful. Once I added a bit of soy sauce, it was much better.Service was good and the restaurant was not very crowded. I think there were only two other customers while we dined. I had looked at the menu ahead of time and two of the options I had been considering were not there, so the menu might change often.The build your own bowl would probably be fun but I was too hungry to make good decisions so went with the classic. If I were to go again, I would probably build my own bowl

Best poke bowl I ever had. Can't believe they're closed…

Came with a friend and ordered the Saba bowl, the futomaki and karaage. The saba bowl was surprising good for its price, but I do think they try to get a little too cute with their bentos and throw too many things onto it. The karaage was unique as it didn't have to much batter on it, it was more like half seared half friend. The futomaki was big, but other than that it was not too special, I think the futomaki is a little expensive and wouldn't order again. I would definitely recommend the bowls as they are good value, but if you just want high quality sushi I would go to sushi 35 west just a couple of streets away.
