Bidrage med feedbackOur lunch was perfectly nice (good pub lunch style food) and quite good value, but the kitchen was extremely slow. This was sorted with an apology and free round of drinks so no complaints there. It is very casual and a nice atmosphere and certainly wont break the bank. I will probably go back.
Having been turned away from two other pubs in the area, The Ship was more than happy to welcome us with a dog. Busy downstairs but there was plenty of free seats upstairs and we were offered a bowl of water for Pamela. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Enjoyed lunch in upstairs dining room. Food very good and excellent service. Lovely floral window boxes outside this old pub. Would recommend
Beautiful historic pub. Great atmosphere, excellent food and very helpful staff. Greatly assisted in choosing our wines and meals. A great place in the middle of London
I spent a long time on the internet researching places to eat at lunch for a family reunion. The website for The Ship seemed to offer everything I was looking for. A broad based menu including scotch eggs!. Imagine my surprise when on arrival a plastic menu card offered steak, burgers and chips and very little else. When I queried this I was told that the website belonged to the previous owner who was refusing to take it down. No idea if this is true. Two types of steak were on the menu, but only one available. This and the burgers arrived on trays covered with a paper napkins. This pub is old (nothing wrong with this except visiting the washrooms is hazardous) and tiny. The upstairs dining area is basic just a few tables and chairs. The staff were so laid back they were practically horizontal. When our order was taken nothing was written down and so items were missed. House white unavailable. If you just want a pint downstairs then this is probably the place for you, but if you are looking for a choice of food and atmosphere upstairs then find somewhere else. Urge the proprietor to solve the website problem. Customers are being misled.
