Bidrage med feedbackAfter a walking tour of Blitz sights that ended near St. Paul's Cathedral, our guide suggested several lunch options, one of them being the Salvation Army café. A few of us decided to dine there and found it to be excellent - clean, spacious, with plenty of available tables, a variety of food options, and very affordable prices. My wife, who drinks decaf coffee, was especially impressed with their coffee, finding it superior to Prêt. We highly recommend this café.
We have visited London multiple times just to explore the many historic sites the city has to offer. During each visit, we always make sure to plan our day so that we are within a short tube ride to the Salvation Army HQ. Cafe 101 is located in the basement, but it still receives some natural light. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and has a very relaxed atmosphere. It is also quite affordable for London standards. The staff at Cafe 101 seems genuinely happy to be there and to serve customers, reflecting the Salvation Army ethos. There are some drawbacks, such as the requirement to pass through a bag search due to its location in an office block. The menu is limited, resembling a traditional cafeteria. However, we always found good food to enjoy. While Cafe 101 may not be the best choice for a business lunch to impress clients, it is a great spot for tired tourists to escape the hustle and bustle of London and enjoy a peaceful lunch.
This restaurant has a lovely space in the basement and offers reasonable prices considering its location. They take extreme care with COVID safety rules and provide a comfortable environment. The coffee and cake were enjoyable. I highly recommend this place!
We stumbled on this by accident after crossing the Millenium bridge. The soup, sandwiches, coffee and cake were all very, very, good. The staff actually looked pleased to see us! The prices were a revelation having been ripped off for much of our stay in London. A big thank you Salvation Army for a warm and enjoyable experience.
I was walking down the street, trying to find a place to have a rest, after coming from Gatwick Airport. I found this little but cute location, café 101. The security agent was very kind and also the people at the service. I didn't expected a cheap price in centre of London and free wifi for 2 hours.
