Bidrage med feedbackI have gone here over the years and NEVER been disappointed. They changed their name recently from Carl's Deli to Carl's Food Shop and I'm not sure why. but anywho........i've had their chicken curry salad. it is DIVINE! I highly recommend going here at least once and stock up!
This quaint spot offers a handful of tables, but primarily serves takeout. They feature generously sized sandwiches, a friendly staff, and an extensive menu selection. It's a great option for a picnic or a casual lunch, and you're sure to enjoy it!
I've been visiting Carl's Deli for decades, where this delightful food establishment started. The owners are friendly, and they bring a vibrant enthusiasm to everything they offer in their deli. They also serve Highlander Grogg coffee among other varieties. The deli is conveniently located right behind St. Mary’s Church in the heart of Hyde Park. I always order the chicken salad sandwich with provolone and a spicy honey spread on light rye. My late grandmother adored her thick-cut, hearty brown bread on bright rye. They offer a fantastic selection of desserts, cookies, pasta salads, and quiche slices—what they affectionately call “pages.” Every time I step inside, it puts me in a great mood!
This is the best delicacy we've found in the Cincinnati region. It’s a small eatery that’s always bustling, but the service is extremely quick. On Sunday morning, we tried the smoked brisket and pastrami sandwich for lunch. This restaurant is just a few blocks away from the Hyde Park Farmers Market. The sandwiches were among the best we've ever had and could easily compete with those in New York City for their generous portions of pastrami. The meat practically melts in your mouth. The bread is made in-house, and many customers opt for takeout. While seating is limited, there are a few outdoor tables where you can enjoy your meal. They also have an excellent selection of salads; I highly recommend the mustard potato salad – it’s a must-try if you love deli food. The sign says Carl’s Deli, and we found it nestled among Jewish delis. The Cincinnati Observatory is about 2 miles away, making it a perfect spot to grab sandwiches and have a picnic at the observatory.
