Hot Spot Diner - Cimarron

The Hot Spot Diner is fantastic – the food and service are both exceptional!

The food was excellent! The burgers were perfectly cooked, and the onion rings were amazing. However, the fries were a bit limp and undercooked, which was disappointing. The waitstaff could use some improvement as well, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Definitely make sure to visit this place; you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Not bad! I was leaving Philmont Scout Ranch and looking for a place to eat. I originally wanted to find the classic Scout Friendly BBQ joint, but instead I came across this location and opted to give it a shot. I ordered the tortilla burger, which was quite good. The green chilies added a nice flavor. I chose French fries instead of chips, and they were just average. My daughter and wife had the quarter-pound burger, which they enjoyed. We also ordered onion rings, but they were from frozen stock, similar to the fries; they were decent and better than the fries. The service was a bit slow, so don't expect to rush through your meal. There’s a side yard for outdoor dining, which is a nice option on a pleasant day.

The grilled cheese sandwich is simply a slice of cheese between two pieces of toast. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Overall rating: 0/10.

I am thrilled to have discovered your restaurant! We often spend a considerable amount of time at the school for games and events, and it's hard to find anything open after 7 PM. We will certainly be stopping by the next time we are in Cimarron.
