Rancho Viejo Mexican Grill - Churubusco

My granddaughter pick this place for her birthday lunch and it was closed. Tried to call the phone but it didn't go through?????!!!!!???? No note on the door or anything! 8/19 Friday

Cash only! Limited menu. Food was ok. Service was friendly. Good to support a small family business.

They just opened and at the time of our visit, they didn't have a liquor license, so I couldn't enjoy the full Mexican meal experience.Main entree: The steak burrito was very delicious and the cut on the steak is thick. The cut is no doubt thicker than any steak I have had in a burrito in a Mexican restaurant.As for the sides, the rice was a bit dry and I couldn't finish it. However, the refried beans were delicious.I would definitely come back again once they obtain their liquor license as it is hard to eat a meal without those delicious margaritas. Look for a re-review of their establishment at a later date.

The restaurant was a bit empty at the time, but that's totally fine by me. The workers were very nice and checked on me pretty often. The environment was simple and spacious. As for the food... I ordered a steak quesadilla with beans and rice. The beans and rice were great, but the steak in the quesadilla was a bit rough and pretty thick. The chips and salsa were alright, but the salsa had a quite a bit of cilantro in it. After a half hour or so after leaving, my stomach wasn't so happy.
