The meals were decent. They used to be really excellent at one time, but they're still not bad.

I visit the Christchurch Casino about once a year, and I've noticed that the dress code seems to be declining each time. It appears that track pants, flip-flops, shorts, and t-shirts are now acceptable attire. I ordered a Caesar salad and paid an extra $7 to include smoked chicken, but it turned out to be a disappointing meal with very little chicken. I won’t be dining there again. On a positive note, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

The food here is actually quite good. I like their burgers!

This is a pretty good casino. The staff arer friendly, its tidy and the crowd apart from Friday and Saturday nights is generally high brow (The two nights mentioned attract the young jack the lad types). Machines are not as tight and good service with working beverage machines, easy layout, and friendly vibes. Also, the staff speak English well, and it's not 90% Asian and Islander like Skycity in Auckland. That casino could learn a LOT from this place. A couple of gripes, dress code is low, and I see people in Trackpants, jeans, and t-shirts in there and occasionally a really street type person in there (I have only been twice).
