The Golden Lion - Chorley

We visited the restaurant for a family dinner on Sunday, and we were a party of seven, each ordering different dishes. All our meals arrived at the same time, each plate served piping hot and beautifully presented. The quality of the food was outstanding, clearly made fresh. I had my heart set on a bee and beetle cake, and even though they had run out of their usual offerings, they prepared a special version for me—a pancake with a fluffy baked top. It was absolutely fabulous! I think this delightful dish should be added to the regular menu. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed some fantastic meals here this year. The food is made fresh with high-quality ingredients, including local meats. The staff is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to help. They are very accommodating to children, even guiding our kids to their board games and coloring books whenever they express interest. We love catching up with friends and family at this place, especially after the recent renovation. During a family dinner here yesterday, we were especially impressed by the chef, who created a special dessert for our son from scratch simply because he mentioned liking lemon. Thank you! We will definitely be back soon.

For the main course, I had stuffed chicken cooked to perfection, served with a sauce that was absolutely divine. My guest enjoyed the stuffed peppers, accompanied by a generous side dish. We paired our meal with a bottle of Malbec that offered great value, which left us no room for dessert!

Came over the pub after a nice walk along the canal and through the village. cured inside of 'walker and their dogs welcome '. we received a warm welcome, the service was friendly and welcoming. the food was tasty and the toffee and the chocolate brew with ice was delicious. nothing was too much annoyed. the rudder fire gives the place a domestic feeling. will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

Just like to say thank you to Darren, Sam and the team for a fantastic evening last night. Food was excellent as always, please pass on our compliments to the chef, and the Jonny Oates Band was fantastic too. A great atmosphere to help celebrate a family birthday which was enjoyed by all. Highly recommend.
